The NSC Congress and Expo is the world’s largest annual event for safety, health, and environmental professionals from over 60 countries world-wide. Dr. Nicole Gravina, Dr. John Austin, and Dr. Richard Kazbour delivered a talk titled, “Should We Use Punishment When Injury Occurs?” It focused on the ongoing debate about how and when to use punishment discipline procedures in the case of injuries in the workplace, discussing what behavioral science research suggests, as well as how to use punishment in a way that helps, rather than hinders a safety program.
